London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) is one of Canada’s largest acute-care teaching hospitals with a legacy of providing compassionate and high-quality care to patients and their families while also pioneering medical innovations for more than 140 years. This multi-site facility sees more than 1 million patient visits annually.

Thanks in part to legacy gifts secured through campaigns like our successful LEGACY BUILDER™ campaign which completed in September, LHSF was able to be the lead funder for a globally-acclaimed study happening in London at Lawson Health Research Institute uncovering groundbreaking new details about COVID-19, including the discovery of six molecules that could be targeted with life-saving treatments. This groundbreaking research, now in the top 1% of research in the world related to the COVID-19, was the first to profile the immune response to the virus and identify potential targeted therapies that could provide better outcomes and save lives.
