Consistency is key to making your brand trusted and memorable. Brand guidelines help by outlining everything from your typography and color palette to your tone of voice and mission statement. This helps you keep your look and feel and your messaging stay consistent everywhere you are.

Squarespace Support

The beauty of Squarespace is how easy it is to pop in and make simple changes yourself. Even if you’re not techie! Especially on your 7.1 website.

Accessibility

A few things to keep your site accessible:

  • When making a new page: name your page and write a description (include one of your keywords or phrases). To do this > click on the settings toggle for that page > go to SEO > fill in the page title and description.

  • Update your blog posts page titles and descriptions in each post. To do this > hover over the post > click on the 3 dots > select settings. Also, your URL. Try to include one of your keywords or keyword phrases in these, as well as your post title.

  • Add alt text that describes the image within each image's settings. This also includes blog pages. This is for screen readers and SEO – Google can’t see images either.

  • For SEO, it’s also a good idea to also add a caption to your images and then hide it (this is also in the image settings). Be sure to include one of your keywords or phrases in the caption (something your ideal client would use when searching that that type of service or result they’re looking for).
